Period/date: 12. June 2016

Debunk claim:

There is evidence that a group of 300 armed Russian hooligans travelled to Marseille with the deliberate aim of creating disorder (http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/international/euro-2016-russia-vs-england-violence-marseille-hooligans-clash-hospital-a7077906.html). Marseille prosecutor Brice Robin has also confirmed that Russian hooligans were behind much of the violence that broke out in the city. The prosecutor said that they were “well-trained” and “prepared for ultra-rapid, ultra-violent action” (https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/jun/13/marseille-prosecutor-russian-trained-hooligans-england-euro-2016).
